SOUTH WALES LEAGUE RULES & CONSTITUTION - updated 2016
The League shall be known as the SOUTH WALES SQUASH LEAGUE hereinafter referred to as ‘The League’.
The object of the League is to promote competitive squash in South Wales. The League shall be divided as follows.
Premier Division One will consist of 8 [eight] teams. Premier Division Two will consist of 8 [eight] teams.
The following Divisions will be regionalised into East and West and will consist of 8 [eight] or 6 [six] teams as needs demand:
Division One East Division One West Division Two East Division Two West Division Three East
All Divisions will operate 2 [two] separate seasons in each calendar year. 1 [one] will be known as Winter and commence in September each year and the other will be known as ‘Spring’ and commence in January each year.
At the end of each Winter and Spring season the following promotions and relegations will take place.
2 [two] teams will be relegated from Premier Division One.
Two teams will be promoted from Premier Division Two to Premier Division One.
2 [two] teams will be relegated from Premier Division Two to the respective Division One in whose Region they are situated;
1 [one] team from each Division One i.e. East and West will be promoted to Premier Division Two.
A ‘minimum’ of 2 [two] teams will be relegated from Division One East, Division One West, Division Two East, Division Two West, Division Three East.
2 [two] teams will be promoted from Division Two East, Division Two West, Division Three East.
At the end of both seasons all relegations from Division Three East and Division Two West will be to the respective County Leagues.
Teams from the County Leagues of GWENT, SOUTH GLAMORGAN, MID GLAMORGAN, WEST GLAMORGAN and PEMBROKESHIRE will be eligible for promotion into the League.
The member clubs of the League will be responsible for deciding the structure of The League at the Annual General Meeting.

The Annual General Meeting will be held after completion of the ‘Spring’ season and will normally be held in June.
Each club due to participate in the League for the forthcoming season will be required to attend the Annual General Meeting which is COMPULSORY and each CLUB shall have 1 [one] vote. No voting by proxy will be allowed.
Any club failing to send a representative to the Annual General Meeting will be liable to a fine of
£25 payable to Wales Squash and Racketball Limited. Failure to pay the fine by the due date, which will be notified in writing, will result in 25 points being deducted from the League total of each team from that club.
Motions received, in writing, to Wales Squash and Racketball Limited will be included in the agenda. Motions must be received at least 14 days prior to the meeting. Motions will be accepted at the Annual General Meeting at the discretion of The Chairperson.
A Special General Meeting may be called at the request of NO LESS THAT 10 [ten] member clubs. The request of each club must be in writing. Voting will be as for the Annual General Meeting.
