EGYPTIANS BID TO MAKE HISTORY - www.squashplayer.co.uk
NEWS BRIEF
The unusual and imaginatively conceived World Championship in El Gouna offers a marvellous opportunity for several players who seek to become the first Egyptian woman to win the title on home soil.
Richard Eaton previews the April event in the latest issue of Squash Player magazine, which is out today, as well as reviewing a record-breaking British Open.
We have interviews with Mohamed ElShorbagy, Egypt's former world no.1, and Camille Serme, the former world no.2 from France, for whom the Hull event was a disappointment, as well as Amr Mansi, the man behind the rise of squash at El Gouna, and fast-rising Peruvian Diego Elias.
Former British champion Daryl Selby pens the Gallery column for the first time, while American star Amanda Sobhy writes about her recovery schedule from a shattering Achilles tendon injury.
Our competitions this time are for a pair of Salming shoes and the new Dunlop racket.
All the regular sections are there as well, including On Court, Off Court, Coaches' Corner, Practice Routines, Mastershot and History, while legendary Egyptian Amr Bey is the latest addition to our Hall of Fame.
