LIVE LONGER WALES

Added: 18 October 2013, 09:50

You may have already seen some of the programming and promotions as part of the BBC Live Longer Wales campaign, which is taking place on all BBC channels throughout October.

During the last weekend of the campaign on 25th to 27th October, the BBC are looking to signpost the people of Wales to different activities that are taking place in their area, in hope that it may encourage them to take things up regularly. They have asked Sport Wales to put a call out to clubs in the sector, to register details of any events taking place during this weekend that would be suitable for the public to come along and try.

We have been in talks with those clubs who are registered to other Sport Wales campaigns (such as What Moves You) and have now had the green light to open things up more widely and promote the opportunity over social media. With this in mind, we are sharing this information with any clubs / organisations who may benefit from the opportunity of having their details registered on the Live Longer Weekend site. To be eligible for registering, you need to be offering activities on the 25th, 26th, or 27th October. Activities would need to be available for newcomers of any level and ideally on a turn up and try basis. Family-friendly activities with minimal cost associations have been identified as the most desirable, however other activities will be also be listed. The link to the site is below; all sign up details are available on this.
