ORANGE BALL EVENT AT SWANSEA LT&SC
Six teams from four clubs competed in the first Swansea Orange ball Event made up from the following clubs, Swansea, Scurlage, Llanelli and Carmarthen. Each team consisted of 4 players. There were 4 team events and 4 individual events. The wide variety of games were great fun and enabled everyone to participate fully in a relaxed but competitive atmosphere, the team events consisted of; The most consecutive forehands, the most consecutive backhands, the most number of shots hit into a marked area, the most number of uncaught serves and four 'singles' knockout tournament.
As the scoreboard was updated it was evident that we were in for a nail biting finish. The lead had changing hands constantly and the tension raised with one event remaining. Carmarthen were in the lead closely followed Llanelli and Swansea both just one point behind with Scurlage within touching distance too. With baited breath the players and supporters alike massed onto the balcony to cheer on their player. And Ossian Webber from Swansea just squeezed through winning for Swansea and giving them the overall victory by just 1 point. Many thanks to all the participants, parents and coaches; Jenny Jones, Steve Jones, for assisting on the day.
