The summer may not have been hot but it was certainly sizzling on the squash courts at Llantrisant. The squash summer camps that were on 3 days a week over a 3-week period were a fantastic success, with some bright young stars coming through the doors. Even when we had them bliss few days of scorching sunshine, it didn't stop the children bursting in for more squash.

The children aged between 5 and 8 years were where we saw most improvements; with some having never picked up a squash racket before (or any racket of shape or form) to being able to hit a brilliantly straight drive by the end of the 3 weeks. With lots of fun and games, Dodge ball by far being the most popular, to simple solo skills (bouncing the ball on racket) to a front court game, the children ended up going home a little red cheeked and little tired but enthusiastic for more. The chocolate gold medal for most improved, helpful and enthusiastic went to Daniel. - Well done to all the coaches at Llantrisant for a great few weeks of squash.
